We Teach For The Youth
Mission: We are committed to creating a learning environment that nurtures students’ aspirations while refining their academic and personal competencies for meaningful contribution to society, family, and self.

Purpose
We Teach For the Youth (WTFTY) bridges education and mentorship by connecting teachers, professionals, and students in a shared mission to nurture academic success, life skills, and emotional well-being. As the program grows, we aim to empower students to co-lead and evolve its vision, ensuring it reflects fresh purpose and diverse perspectives for future generations.
The Foundation
The WTFTY Leadership Series is a five-part module developed to explore two guiding questions: ‘How do we define leadership?’ and ‘What skills and qualities shape impactful leaders?’ The series challenges the idea that leadership is just a personality trait—instead, we treat it as a skill that can be learned, practiced, and refined. Designed to be inclusive and empowering, the program helps students of all backgrounds build confidence, emotional intelligence, and purpose-driven leadership in their own unique way. As WTFTY grows, our goal is to build a team of mentors and facilitators committed to evolving this vision and empowering the next generation of leaders.

“We often tell our students to shoot for the stars, and I believe we have an obligation to do the same. In doing so, we find ourselves, and our purpose to Achieve.”

Our Why
-
We Teach for the Youth embraces the unique strengths of every student in their pursuit of academic and personal success. Our program is not reactionary, but preventative. It is designed to support students before they fall through the cracks. By drawing on the expertise of educators, community researchers, mentors, parents, and peers, we empower students to strive for excellence both inside and outside the classroom. Through this model, WTFTY sparks community change by inspiring future leaders and legacy builders.
*WTFTY draws inspiration from the S.P.E.C. model, Strengths, Prevention, Empowerment, and Community Change. The framework, developed by Dr. Isaac Prilleltensky and colleagues in their work on community well-being.
